SANDY KOUFAX DIAMOND NOTES

In 1965 Sandy Koufax was the Cy Young winner going 26-8 leading the NL with 2.04 ERA and fanning a record 382 batters. He also pitched a 1-0 no hitter/perfect game against the Chicago Cubs on September 9th that year. In the 65 Series, Sandy pitched to shutouts in games 5 and 7. Sandy retired after the 1966 World Series which he lost to Jim Palmer in that series 4-0. Palmer pitched a shutout at age 20,and said thats the greatest game he was ever a part of. Sandy is now in the hall of fame and is regarded as the greatest left hander ever to pitch.
